Emory Worklife Center to Host Care Workshops

The Emory WorkLife Center has several workshops on Adult Care, Childcare, and Aging Issues. From Navigating Medicare or Understanding Issues Surrounding Death, to Selecting Quality Childcare.

  • Legal Issues Surround Death & Incapacity: Wills, Trusts and Powers of Attorney
    October 11, 2017 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
    1525 Clifton Road, Alperin Auditorium
How can financial and medical decisions be made if I become unable to make decisions for myself? Is Guardianship necessary? Do I need a Trust? Should I try to avoid Probate? Do I really need a Will? Can I write my own Will? The answers to these and many more questions will be addressed in this important planning workshop.

  • Selecting and Evaluating Quality Childcare
    October 27, 2017 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
1525 Clifton Road, Atlanta, GA 30322, Alperin Auditorium
This workshop is designed to help expecting parents and parents' of young toddlers become familiar with the different types of child care available and help them evaluate what constitutes quality care. Due to the high demand for child care in the Emory area, the seminar will also provide parents with some creative options for when their first choice is not obtainable. Resources and programs available to help parents with issues of child care will also be also discussed.

  • Caregiver Connection: Connecting Caregivers with Benefits and Resources
As we head into the holiday season, we often visit with adult loved ones and learn about what new challenges they might be facing or what help they may need. The Emory Caregiver Support Program is hosting a Caregiver Open House on Wednesday, November 15th from 11am- 2pm. Representatives from all of your caregiver focused benefits and local community resources will be in one location. Please stop by to gather information and ask questions about services and benefits that can help your family member locally or anywhere in the U.S.
