Retirement Plan, Healthcare, Job Security and Workplace Flexibility Most Important, HR Survey Says

Last fall, Emory University Human Resources engaged Mercer, an independent consulting firm, to conduct a benefits and rewards survey of university faculty and staff. A total of 4,011 employees completed the survey, representing an overall participation level of 37% (the participation rate for faculty was 28.5%, for staff it was 40.3% and for librarians, 64.5%). The purpose of the survey was to establish a baseline measure for what faculty and staff liked about working at Emory. See survey results.

Are You Earning Your 2019 Incentives?
To encourage you to take an active role in your health and well-being, Emory provides financial incentives for your participation in healthy activities. That’s right -- you can actually save money on your medical expenses by doing things that help you live a healthier lifestyle!

Many incentives are earned through Healthy Emory Connect, Emory’s web platform and mobile app. If you have not already joined, this is your first step to earning your incentives. Plus, you receive a $25 incentive just for signing up! Next, you can take your health risk assessment (HRA) to earn another $25. Then, throughout the year, you can earn points on Healthy Emory Connect by participating in various activities such as walking, tracking your healthy habits and participating in challenges.

In addition to the incentives offered through Healthy Emory Connect, you can also earn incentives for participating in the following activities: 2019 Know Your Numbers onsite screenings, getting a colonoscopy or Cologuard test, and the Diabetes Prevention Program, if eligible. Learn more

A Celebration of Healing and the Arts at EUH
The monks of Drepung Loseling will be creating a sand mandala from Monday to Saturday, February 11 – 16, at the Emory University Hospital Tower Bridge. Visitors will be able to experience firsthand the rich legacy of the Tibetan sacred arts and how they are used to promote compassion and healing.

The Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics is pleased to invite you to celebrate our new joint initiative, Compassion-Centered Spiritual Health, in collaboration with Spiritual Health at Emory Healthcare.

The mandala will be created at the end of the pedestrian bridge that connects to the new hospital tower. Please stop by to observe the monks as they carefully place tens of thousands of colored grains of sand to form the complex mandala.

You may also attend one of several associated lectures, ceremonies, or meditations.  Each meditation will be led by a spiritual health clinician who is certified to teach CBCT®, the center's research-based contemplative program designed to help those of any or no faith tradition to cultivate resilience and compassion.  No registration needed.
