Emory’s Annual Camp and Learning Expo Feb. 13 – Registration Now Open

Are you searching for quality summer programs for your kids? Come to Emory’s Annual Camp and Learning Expo to learn more about the variety of summer camps and learning programs that will be offered throughout the Metro Atlanta area. February 13, 2020 at the Woodruff PE Center, 4th Floor Auxiliary Court, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.  Registration is now open.

Diabetes Prevention Program
Are you concerned about developing diabetes? Diabetes can often be prevented or managed through physical activity, diet, and weight management. Emory has a variety of programs and services to help you prevent or manage diabetes.

Emory’s Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) is a one-year, small group program that teaches you how to eat healthy, increase your physical activity and manage your stress in order to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes.  Emory has made a lasting commitment to the health and wellness of our faculty and staff and is pleased to be offering this supportive program to Emory employees at no charge.

To be eligible for the program, you must:
- Have a body mass index (BMI) of 25 or greater (for Asian Americans, 23 or greater), AND
- Have prediabetes diagnosed by a blood test, OR
- Have history of gestational diabetes, OR
- Screen positive for prediabetes using the American Diabetes Association risk test

New DPP groups will be starting in early 2020. Register today to attend an information session.


2020 Summer College Internship Program
Emory’s Summer College Internship program offers college students who are in the middle of their academic careers a unique opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of Emory University or Emory Healthcare. Designed to last ten weeks (June 1 – August 7, 2020), with an option for departments to extend it to twelve weeks (ending on August 21, 2020), each department will need to establish learning objectives for their selected intern and evaluate him/her twice during the program. Performance Management Updates

New Competencies for Leader Positions
A new competency model for performance management has been developed for all Emory University staff people leaders who have strategy, change management and related leadership oriented responsibilities (often, but not always at the Director-level or above).

Mid-Year Reviews Due March 2

  • For many at Emory, the mid-year form for the FY20 cycle is due March 2. Those on the academic vs. fiscal calendar may have an earlier due date.
  • If you have not completed your mid-year form, please do so before April 15.
  • On Wednesday, April 15 all forms will be advanced to the next form in the process: the year-end form.

In addition to a rich array of specialty coffees and snacks, during the exhibition Transcendent Deities of India: The Everyday Occurrence of the Divine, Ebrik Coffee Room is offering two specialty drinks: "transcendent" chai and mango lassi.
