Alternative Work Arrangements

As an "Employer of Choice" concerned about the well being of our employees and the effects of traffic and pollution on our quality of life, Emory University strives to strengthen the workplace options that support employee work and personal life balance by offering Alternative Work Arrangements.

Types of Alternative Work Arrangements

The typical options for alternative work arrangements are listed below. If you need another option, discuss the arrangement with your manager and Human Resources.

Provisions

There are a number of AWA Provisions for Emory University employees using alternative work arrangements, depending, in part, on the exemption status of your job under federal regulations for overtime.

For all employees, vacations, holidays and sick pay are calculated on the number of days or hours you work per week, as well as the length of service. This does not change with alternative work arrangements but there may need to be specific tracking procedures established in the work group.
