Emory provides new employees with an online Orientation web site.
The web site is a tool and online process for newly hired faculty and staff that facilitates orientation to Emory. It ensures that faculty and staff are provided essential information and the opportunity to begin their orientation to Emory immediately after the hiring offer is made.
The web site also ensures that Emory acquires and maintains certain required documents in order to be compliant with federal and state regulations.
International employees (non-resident aliens) must attend an Orientation Session with International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS).
Newly hired faculty and staff will receive an email invitation to complete a variety of activities through the Online Orientation prior to their first day of employment, including:
Completion of required documentation: personal information verification, and I-9, W4, and G4 forms. Each of these sections requires an electronic signature that is stored and tracked through a database.
Reviewing and reading important, required information: Policies, Trust Line, Health and Safety.
Reviewing the benefits and services available to employees. Employees are given the option to sign-up for an in-person benefits session through the web site. New employees have 31 days from their date of hire to enroll in their benefits. Failure to enroll within the 31-day window will result in the employee having to wait until the annual benefits enrollment period, typically held in the fall of each year, to select coverage.
Receiving information on important topics like: Parking & Transportation, Payroll, and Human Resources programs.
Learning about the history and culture of the University: Welcome from President Wagner, Emory's history, vision statement and Strategic Plan, as well as information on the Arts, Athletics, Community Involvement, etc.
Employees can also upload a photo to create their Emory ID Card.
