Emory Launches Update to Visitor Policy
An update to the visitor policy is posted on the Emory Forward website. The policy:

  • Identifies and categorizes various types of campus visitors and the university entities that are responsible for managing each category;

  • Establishes priorities for the return of visitors within the functional categories; and

  • Provides guidance on the implementation of relevant public health protocols and priorities for the return of visitors.

Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the policy and follow the implementation and approval guidelines. View the policy.

Georgia Special Election - January 5
Georgia will have two Senate races in a special runoff election on January 5, 2021. Several state and local runoff races will also be held on January 5. The deadline to register to vote is December 7, 2020. Once registered, make a plan to vote:

  • By absentee ballot (mail in or drop off): You can request an absentee ballot for the special runoff election now. Make sure to carefully follow the directions in preparing your ballot. Check with your county for ballot drop off locations or mail it in.

  • Early/Advance Voting (in person): Advance voting for the runoff election begins on December 14, 2020. Check with your local county elections office for specific days, times and locations.

  • Election Day (in person): You can vote in person on the official special election day: January 5, 2021. Find your precinct here.

Emory’s Voting Policy which allows staff members up to 4 hours paid time, as needed to vote, will also apply for this runoff election (either for election day on January 5 or for advance/early voting). If you plan to vote during your work day, just let your supervisor know in advance. For tips and resources on managing stress and navigating workplace issues, refer to the Election Well-Being 2020 Toolkit on the HR website.
