Webinar: Caring for Aging Relatives
Learn how to determine the best level of care for an aging relative. As older relatives age, they may require more care than family or neighbors can provide. Many younger relatives then face the difficult decision of seeking the right kind of outside care. This seminar is a helpful first step. You’ll learn about observing and assessing your relative’s ability to perform the activities of daily living (ADLs) and correctly taking medications. This seminar explains how to communicate more productively about care options, from in-home assistance to assisted living and nursing care.  This will also be an opportunity to hear about Caregiver benefits through Emory. Presented by WorkPlace Options on November 9, 2020, 12pm-1pm. Register here. If you have questions about this webinar or Emory University WorkLife benefits, please contact Mary Ellen Eady, 404-727-4177.your family members.

As you are aware, Emory relies on critical digital infrastructure and assets to provide services that fulfill our core missions of teaching, research, and healthcare delivery.

Starting this month, you will receive a communication from senior leadership that you are to take the course. Please access the training within 30 days following the email. The training module will take less than 30 minutes to complete. You may leave the course at any time and when you return, the course will open to the last page visited. Note that you must complete the exam portion of the training for the course to be marked as complete.

Required Title IX Training – Open Now
The U.S. Department of Education recently released the final regulations for implementing protections of equal access to education under Title IX of the Higher Education Act of 1972. Colleges are required to follow these regulations when responding to allegations of sexual assault and other forms of sexual harassment and misconduct.

Following a review of these regulations, Emory adopted the new Sex and Gender-Based Harassment and Discrimination Policy, which updates our policies and processes to comply with federal law and adhere to our commitment to maintain the safety and well-being of all members of our community. Emory is committed to providing an environment that is free from unlawful harassment and discrimination and to ensuring all members of our community feel safe, secure and respected.

As part of Emory’s comprehensive training plan for all employees (faculty and staff), teaching assistants and resident advisors, you are required to complete the Building Supportive Communities: Clery Act & Title IX Course. This course trains faculty and staff on how to recognize, report, and prevent sexual misconduct and includes the new federal regulatory requirements. You must complete this updated version even if you previously took the course.

To complete the course log in to Emory’s Learning Management System  and click on the tile labeled "My Learning”. The module is listed as one of your assigned courses and will take approximately 45 minutes to complete.
