Staff Fest Coming May 17
For over forty years, Emory has celebrated its staff members for the support they provide to the university all year round. This year’s theme is One Emory: Engaged for Impact! The main event will take place from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm on the Quad, with games, music, dancing, food and lots more!

Staff Fest t-shirts are on sale now. Due to the popularity of this year’s design, t-shirts are selling fast, so don’t delay!

Emory Staff Honored for Years of Service
On Thursday, April 25, 2019, Emory University staff members were honored for their years of service at a special luncheon with President Sterk. 50-year, 45-year, 40-year, 35-year, 30-year, and 25-year anniversary milestones were celebrated. View list of the 2019 Service Award Recipients.

Emory’s Workplace Violence Training for Managers
Emory’s Workplace Violence Training for Managers is now available in ELMS. All managers/supervisors at Emory University are required to take this new training which will help you better understand the threat of workplace violence in our community, recognize the warning signs, and learn what to do if you find yourself confronting a potential threatening situation. Be sure to watch the entire video to receive credit for the course. Please take the course no later than June 15. For instructions on accessing, refer to an email sent on May 3 from HR Communications.


New Webinar: Teaching Your Child Responsibility
Children can learn to become responsible adults. In this webinar, you will review the characteristics of a responsible child, from accountability to fulfilling obligations. You will then discuss the importance of effective feedback, appropriate rewards and other steps to raising a responsible child. You will explore the role of self-esteem in the process and the negative impact of using guilt and arbitrary rules. There is an emphasis on the parents' role in shaping responsible behavior. Emory Startup Launch Accelerator Program: Call for Applicants
After a successful 2018 cohort, the Emory Startup Launch Accelerator program is now accepting applications from teams for a Fall 2019 cohort. This program, funded by a grant from the Goizueta Creativity and Innovation Initiative, is offered to help early stage founders through a defined process that will help teams rapidly take their ideas and test them with customers to discard, change and build a business model to move the startup forward. The 10-week program begins October 3rd. Applications are now open.  It’s a free program, open to the entire Emory community (students, faculty, staff and alumni), to help build and enhance Emory’s entrepreneurial spirit by helping create successful startups.   • Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning - Emory Continuing Education’s AI/DL curriculum -- designed for college graduates and working professionals -- focuses on practical applications and core concepts to prepare participants for real-world business problems and AI-related careers. The course blends theoretical elements and hands-on, problem-solving techniques in order to build a solid foundation in various AI, ML, and DL methodologies. Begins Saturday, June 22.
