Community Gathering for Healing and Hope – Responding to a Year with COVID-19

After a year of living with the COVID-19 pandemic, political divisiveness, and ongoing racial injustice and violence, this will be an opportunity to give voice to our experiences and feelings, to acknowledge the losses and the grief of the past year, to honor the sacrifices of unseen heroes, and to bring a sense of initial closure to this time when so many have been away from campus.

Through music, reflections, prayer and meditation, we will mark the passing of this time and seek collective healing and hope for the future. If possible, you are invited to have a candle on hand to light. Sponsored by the Office of Spiritual and Religious Life, Faculty Staff Assistance Program, and Counseling and Psychological Services. Friday, April 30, 2021, 12:00 noon. Register now.

COVID-19 Vaccine – Vaccinated Outside of Emory?
If you received your COVID-19 vaccine at a location outside of Emory, you can upload documentation of your vaccine to the Emory H.O.M.E. portal. This will not only help Emory keep track of how many people in our community have been vaccinated on our campus, but will also stop the vaccine reminder emails that are being sent to you. Here are the steps:

  1. Log into PeopleSoft/Employee Self-Service
  2. Click on “Workplace Health” (you will be prompted to log in again)
  3. Click the “EMORY H.O.M.E. PORTAL” button
  4. Select the “Vaccine Consents/Questionnaires” tab (left hand menu)
  5. Find the box labeled “COVID-19 Vaccine Outside Documentation”
  6. Click the box to verify your vaccination status outside of Emory Healthcare. If you received both doses outside of Emory Healthcare, please fill out both Dose 1 and Dose 2 forms.

For more information about COVID-19 vaccines at Emory, visit: https://www.emory.edu/forward/covid-19/vaccine.html.

Healthy Emory Announces Survey Results
In January, Healthy Emory surveyed employees of Emory University and Emory Healthcare to get feedback on the quality of Emory’s health & wellbeing programs, access to resources, barriers to participation, and the overall culture of wellbeing at Emory. 4,055 employees responded to the survey. Here is a snapshot of the results:

• 76% agreed that Emory cares about their health and wellbeing.

• 55% rated Healthy Emory programs as good, very good or excellent.

• 49% found Healthy Emory programs helpful to their health improvement efforts.

• The top barrier for participating in wellness programs was “time” (46%).

• When asked which areas were most important for new or expanded programs, survey respondents chose “weight management” and “stress management” as their top two.

Thanks to all who participated in this survey! The Health and Wellness team will use the survey data, as well as other employee feedback, to plan Healthy Emory’s programming for 2021- 2022. Full survey results can be viewed here.
