CVS MinuteClinics Provide Wellness Services to Emory Employees

CVS MinuteClinics provide in-person, one-on-one wellness services to Emory employees who are Aetna medical members for three focus areas:

  • biometric screening counseling
  • weight management coaching
  • smoking/ tobacco use coaching

CVS MinuteClinic clinicians, who consist of nurse practitioners and physician assistants, will deliver these wellness services in the MinuteClinic physical locations. The sessions last 15-20 minutes each.

There is no out-of-pocket cost to Aetna medical members at the time of service. Screenings and counseling for obesity, healthy diet and tobacco use are preventive services covered under the Affordable Care Act.

These wellness services are available to Aetna medical members age 18 and older.  The member is allowed up to a maximum of 26 obesity counseling sessions per year, of which 10 can be used for healthy diet counseling.  Smoking/ tobacco cessation is limited to 8 sessions per 12 floating months.  Biometric screening counseling is typically one session.
