MORE NEWS YOU CAN USE

Aetna – Emory’s Partner for Healthier Living
(not just your insurance company)

Emory encourages you to Take Care of your health by providing you with tools and resources that can help you and your family live healthier lives. One of the resources available to you is Aetna. Aetna is not just Emory’s insurance provider for medical, dental and behavioral mental health coverage; they are also Emory’s health partner.  Aetna provides you with personal support and health information as well as online resources to help better manage your health as well as your health care dollars.

Have you received a call from an Aetna nurse?
As part of your benefits plan, Aetna provides program nurses at no cost to you. A nurse from one of Aetna’s health and wellness programs may call:

  • Before and after a hospital stay

Or, when you:

  • Have longer-term health needs for a medical condition
  • Need additional health information about your condition
  • Need help coordinating complex care
  • Need help managing an ongoing condition, such as asthma or diabetes

A program nurse might also call you to:

  • Help you prepare for your hospital stay and your recovery at home
  • Offer tips about questions to ask your doctor
  • Coordinate care
  • Help you learn more about Aetna’s health and wellness programs
  • Discuss other services available through your employer or in your community
  • Help you actively work toward good health
  • Direct you to online resources for self-care
  • Help you learn more about Aetna’s other health programs

Be sure to answer the phone when your Aetna program nurse calls!
