New Exit Process for Checking Out Faculty and Staff Leaving Emory
When it is time for an employee to leave Emory, whether it's due to a termination, resignation, retirement or another reason, certain procedures must be followed to ensure that Emory's policies are met and Emory's physical and intellectual property is returned. There is now a new online exit process for checking out faculty and staff who are leaving Emory. This new process provides a consistent, systematic way to track the tasks that are necessary to close out their employment and helps ensure that faculty/staff who are leaving the university do not inadvertently retain sensitive data or access. Use of the new system is now required for all exiting faculty and staff members with the exception of students, medical residents and unpaid faculty members. Learn more.

Is Your Address and Personal Information Up-To-Date in Self-Service?

FY19 Performance Management Forms Are Now Available
If you haven’t done so already, you should begin working on your year-end performance management form(s). These forms are available in Self-Service/PeopleSoft (click on the Performance Management tile, then My Current Documents). The due date shown reflects the end of the fiscal year (8/31/2019). In most cases, self-evaluations should be completed by 8/1/2019 so that your manager has enough time to review your form, schedule your meeting, and finalize the process by 8/31. If your division has already contacted you with a separate due date for your self-evaluation, please use that date in lieu of 8/1. For assistance, review our step-by-step guides:

Join the Emory Healthy Aging Study to Help Us Fight Alzheimer’s and Other Age-Related Disorders
The Emory Healthy Aging Study is a game-changing effort to further our scientific understanding of how we age, and to learn more about the average human lifespan, diseases and neurological disorders like Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease that occur more commonly in later years. It is the largest gerontology-based educational research study targeting Atlanta ever conducted at Emory University. The Healthy Aging Study hopes to build a massive public health database by recruiting a large number of participants to take part in the study over a long period of time. We will keep involvement as simple and easy as possible. Learn how you can participate.

Looking for Help with Projects Around the Office?
Have you looked around your office and said we need to get our files organized or we have a project that we need an extra person or two to finish, but our department budget is under tight control. The Federal Work Study (FWS) program could be your answer. The program provides undergraduate students the opportunity to gain real life work experiences in an Emory department or with one of our off campus partners. The federal government is responsible for 70% of the hourly wage and the department is responsible for only 30%. Review your budget and your laundry list of items to complete and consider hiring a work study student. To learn more about how the Federal Work Study program can work for you, please contact Delicia Lucky at dlucky@emory.edu.
