Committed to providing a positive work experience for our veteran employees, Emory partners with veteran employees to help attract, motivate and retain employees.
Emory’s Veterans' Advisory Board consists of veterans who currently work at Emory University and Emory Healthcare.
The board meets quarterly on the fourth Thursday of each meeting month. Meetings last for approximately 1.5 hours.
Meeting Location: All Veterans' Advisory Board meetings are 8:30-10 a.m. in the Houston Building Conference Room.
The Advisory Board:
Keeps Emory University and Emory Healthcare HR departments abreast of military or federal regulatory changes impacting employment.
Serves as an internal resource that represents a military viewpoint for Emory to obtain feedback related to new employee initiatives.
Advises Emory HR departments of effective marketing strategies to appeal to veterans and current military applicants.
Keeps Emory HR departments informed of upcoming military events for participation.
Advises Emory HR departments if changes are needed in recruiting policies and procedures as they pertain to veterans.
Serves as mentors to other veterans newly-employed by Emory.
Assists HR Recruiting and perspective candidates to interpret or translate military experience or skills and abilities to comparable positions.
Travels to other locations to participate as Emory representatives in job fairs or other recruiting activities.
Veterans' Advisory Board Members:
