"Tier Zero" Can Help You Quit Tobacco Use

Under "Tier Zero," generic prescription medications that are used to treat chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, are covered at 100%.

Using generic drugs is a great way to lower your prescription drug costs if your physician prescribes a brand-name drug and does not specify Dispense as Written (DAW). Ask your pharmacist if a generic version is available.

Emory will be adding all prescription Smoking (and other tobacco product) Cessation drugs to Tier Zero. The goal is to help eliminate the financial roadblocks to seeking resources that can aid in the stopping of tobacco product usage.

Discuss smoking cessation with your medical provider to determine the best smoking cessation drug for you. For more information on the Tier Zero drugs listed or a complete formulary, contact your Prescription Drug Vendor.
