Organizational Development
Organizational Development seeks to improve group dynamics, organizational structure, and organizational culture. Organizational Development professionals are available to assist organizations in creating and changing an organization's culture so that employees are better able to achieve the organization's mission. Organizational Development looks at how groups and organizations function and how employees interact to accomplish their work.
Organizational development services and initiatives are based on an understanding that various parts of the organization's structure, systems and people must be aligned and involved if change efforts are to result in enhanced organizational excellence.

Employee Relations
Employee Relations Services focuses on promoting good management practices and workplace behaviors, positive working environments and relationships, and on complying with Human Resources Policies and Procedures. The Employee Relations Services is designed to assist individuals and departments on how to work through problems and differences to make the work environment more positive, enjoyable and less stressful.
To better serve the University, the Employee Relations Office is available to provide the following services:
Employee Relations Services include:
- Provide policy and procedural interpretation and administration
- Provide advice on how to manage performance and conduct issues
- Advise departments on administering Corrective Action and the Progressive Disciplinary process
- Review all proposed actions, including disciplinary actions, demotions, suspensions or terminations before they are administered
- Provide assistance and advice on the Grievance and Appeal process
- Assist departments to develop and administer performance standards, performance evaluations and development plans
- Provide Supervisory Skills training and on-site specialized training upon request
- Coordinate and respond to Georgia Department of Labor Unemployment Compensation Claims
- Assist in resolving conflict between parties through facilitated discussions and mediation
- Review and management of the Reduction in Force process.
- Manage the Exit Interview process
- Manage all University leave of absence programs to include, Family and Medical Leave, Medical leave (non-FMLA), Administrative Leave, Personal Leave, Military Leave, Educational Leave, and Seasonal Leave
- Provide advice and counsel on Alternative Work Arrangements for Staff.
