Mentor Emory advances the individual and community through learning from others and giving back. Towards this endeavor, they:

  • Assist the University in retaining talent
  • Foster the professional growth of its mentors and mentees
  • Provide enhanced communication and connectivity
  • Instill a sense of belonging amongst its participants

Program Guidelines

The following guidelines ensure a rich learning experience for both the mentor and mentee that add value to your relationship. Also take advantage of the Tips and Resources that are available to you.

For both Mentors and Mentees:

  1. Attend the Mentor Emory Kickoff and Orientation
  2. Participate in Mentor Emory program activities.
  3. Devote two hours per month to the mentoring process.
  4. Follow through on commitments.

For the Mentors:

  1. Create or revise your personal statement, vision and development plan (this is discussed during the Mentor Emory Kickoff and Orientation).
  2. Coach your mentee through the process of creating or revision their personal statement, vision and development plan.

For the Mentees:

  1. Allow your mentor to coach you through creating or revising your personal statement, vision and development plan (this is discussed during the Mentor Emory Kickoff and Orientation).
  2. Be open and honest with your mentor and develop goals for the mentoring relationship.

Schedule of Events

Mentor Emory is a yearlong program that provides the mentor and mentee sufficient time to build upon a relationship. Mentor Emory hosts events throughout the year to assist in this process.
