Notice regarding new security measures for access to PeopleSoft HR

As you may be aware, Emory is implementing additional security measures for access to several systems from off campus locations.

By August 8, 2016, you must be enrolled in Duo Security Two-Factor Authentication in order to access PeopleSoft/Employee Self-Service/e-Vantage from any offsite location (such as your home) which is not connected to the Emory network. PeopleSoft/e-Vantage is used for numerous HR functions including leave tracking, viewing paychecks, performance management and much more.

“Two-Factor Authentication” means when you log into any of the protected systems (VPN, Office365 webmail, or PeopleSoft HR/e-Vantage), you will be required to provide a second verification, in addition to your NetID and password, to gain access to the system. You will only receive this second verification if you have enrolled in Duo.

Why is this required?

Emory has experienced a number of PeopleSoft/e-Vantage self-service breaches recently due to phishing, and we are implementing this enhanced security to help protect your confidential information, and to make you less vulnerable to the consequences of falling for a phishing scam. We are taking these threats very seriously and implementing these additional security features as required by IT, HR, and Finance to help protect your personal information and our institutional digital assets. You are strongly urged to enroll as soon as possible.

To enroll, use a browser to go to the Emory Duo Self-Service Portal ( and click on the Duo Enroll button.

If you do not enroll by August 8 and try to access PeopleSoft/Self-Service/e-Vantage from an off campus location, you will be prompted to enroll in Duo before you can gain access.

If you have already enrolled in Duo you do not need to enroll again.
