Occupational Injury Management (OIM) is a value-added service of Emory Healthcare and Emory University, committed to the pursuit of a quality work environment free from recognized health, safety and environmental risks in compliance with applicable regulations. Our mission is to provide direct access to comprehensive, cost-effective quality care for employees with occupational injuries or illnesses. Evaluation, treatment and case management of workplace injuries are delivered by occupational health experts committed to optimizing an injured employee’s recovery.
Clinical care: including assessments, diagnosis, management of biological and chemical exposures
Clinical case management of occupational illnesses and injuries
Injury prevention programs that includes safety prevention for blood and body fluid exposures
Health hazard assessments and surveillance of employee population, workplace and community groups
Recordkeeping in accordance with the standards of Occupational and Environmental Health Nursing, the Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OHSA) and applicable state and federal laws
Analysis and trending of illness and injury episodes
Treatment of common illnesses. Examples include: influenza like illness, sinus problems, common cold, ear pain, rashes, pink eye, urinary pain and acute musculoskeletal injuries
Services do not include treatment for chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, etc.
Health complaints do not have to be work-related or occupationally acquired
Employees will be evaluated and treated by a certified nurse practitioner

Services for Physical Therapy
Provides physical therapy services for injured employees to help reduce/relieve symptoms resulting from work-related injury
Educate employees on safe body mechanics and work practices in order to reduce the risk of future harm
Identify, monitor and reduce health hazards in the workplace through the Injury Prevention Program
Ergonomic Assessments for all of Emory Healthcare and Emory University staff
