Behavioral Health Benefit Overview (UBH)

UBH provides a network of experienced psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical nurse specialists, and licensed counselors with broad expertise in treating children, adolescents, adults and families. Members should call UBH Member Services at (877) 237-8575 to obtain a referral to an In-Network provider. Member Services is prepared to help participants with mental health issues and authorize appropriate treatment.

Pre-Certification

Pre-admission certification/continued stay review is a program designed to help you and your dependents avoid unnecessary or excessively long hospital stays.  For mental health or substance abuse admissions contact UBH at (877) 237-8575.

Outside the Atlanta Area

Members residing or temporarily located outside metropolitan Atlanta must call UBH to locate a participating provider. If a participating provider is available, claims are paid at the In-Network benefit level. If no provider is available, claims are paid at the Out-of-Network level.

Out-of-Network Claims

To submit an out-of-network claim online:

  • Go to the UBH web site.
  • Log in using the Group Access code 11370 (skip if you log in via the Emory Benefits Site).
  • Click "Submit Claims Online" in the Self Service Area text box on the left of the page.
  • Complete your registration.
  • Using your billing statement, enter information into the claim form.
  • Review your completed claim.
  • Click "Submit Claim".

To submit an Out-of-Network claim via regular mail, obtain a claim form by visiting the UBH web site. Once completed, send your claim to:

Important Notes

  • Behavioral Health now has no limit on the number of inpatient days and outpatient visits covered for out-of-network benefit.
