December is Toys for Tots Month

Donate To Toys For Tot

Did you know that you can brighten a child’s Christmas by simply donating a toy? It does not matter how much you have spent or the brand of the toy, every little toy counts just to put a smile on a less fortunate child’s face.

Mission

The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

Objective

The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future .

National Hand-Washing Awareness Week

What is the best way to wash your hands?

Did you know 1/3 of Americans don’t wash their hands after using the restroom?

  • Rule #1: Wash your hands frequently and always after the restroom
  • Rule #2: Rub hands vigorously for at least 20 seconds

What is the best way to reduce spreading germs?

Washing your hands frequently reduces your chances of getting sick. All of the bacteria, viruses and other microbes that we touch on people, surfaces and objects throughout the day accumulate on our hands. Therefore, washing our hands can dramatically limit the spread of germs.

Soap or Hand Sanitizer?

Washing your hands is the best way to reduce the germs on them. Hand sanitizers, while effective at eliminating some germs, do not completely eliminate all germs, especially if hands are visibly dirty.
