MORE NEWS YOU CAN USE

Election is Tomorrow, November 6
On Election Day, Emory encourages students, staff and faculty to exercise one of the most foundational rights of citizenship in our democracy: the right to vote. As a reminder, for hourly employees, Emory’s Voting Policy allows special requests for time off up to two hours to be considered if an employee's work schedule would prevent him/her from voting (such as 12-hour day shift).

Performance Management
Performance Management is now a year-round process! Rather than waiting for the end of the year to complete your performance management form(s), you can now work on them throughout the year. The performance management process has been initiated for the majority of Emory staff members.

Having the forms available throughout the year gives both managers and staff the ability to set goals, complete mid-year evaluations, and record other important performance notes all during the year. Be sure to read your email on Wednesday for instructions on beginning the process.

If you would like to learn more about the Performance Management system, classes and online tools are available:

The 2018 Great American Smokeout is Thursday, November 15
Every year, on the third Thursday of November, smokers across the nation take part in the American Cancer Society Great American Smokeout event. Encourage someone you know to use the date to make a plan to quit, or plan in advance and then quit smoking that day. By quitting – even for 1 day – smokers will be taking an important step toward a healthier life and reducing their cancer risk.

Emory will be celebrating the Great American Smokeout (GASO) by encouraging all employees to spread the word about our tobacco cessation programs and resources, such as Quit For Life and Freedom From Smoking, and to support those who are trying to quit. Learn more.
