Emory’s Annual Benefits Enrollment (October 16 - November 2, 2015) is your opportunity to review your current benefits and make changes for the upcoming year. Flu Vaccinations
Flu season is approaching which means it’s time to get a flu shot. The 2015-2016 vaccine will protect against three different flu virus strains: influenza A (H1N1) virus, influenza A (H3N2) virus, and influenza B virus. In order to be protected against seasonal influenza, you must get a flu shot each and every year. Emory Faculty and staff who are on the Emory medical plan (and their covered dependents) can receive a free flu vaccine. Learn more.

Emory Installs AED Devices to Help Victims of Sudden Cardiac Arrest
Minutes matter for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. To speed response, Emory has installed 300 automated external defibrillator (AED) units across its campuses and placed AEDs in all police cars. Learn how you could help save a life.

Recovery Support Series
The Faculty Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) is offering a series of free, confidential, interactive workshops that are open to Emory employees who are in active recovery from alcohol and other substances. Participation provides an opportunity to connect with fellow employees in recovery and strengthen relapse prevention skills throughout the year.  The next workshop, Safeguard Your Recovery During the Holidays, will be held Friday, October 30, at 11:30am at FSAP. Express Care Clinic: New Emory Johns Creek Hospital Location
Feeling under the weather and need a convenient place to get a checkup? Emory Healthcare has a special benefit for all employees – the Express Care Clinic. The Express Care Clinic at Emory Healthcare provides expanded clinical services to all Emory employees, free of charge! The clinic offers treatment for common illnesses, such as influenza-like illness, sinus problems, common cold, sore throat, ear pain, rashes and acute musculoskeletal injuries (e.g., twisted ankle). Depression Screening
National Depression Screening Day was October 8th. Are you affected by depression? Know someone who is? Help is available at http://screening.mentalhealthscreening.org/emory.  Take advantage of this free, anonymous online self-assessment. You will receive immediate, customized feedback as well as the opportunity to schedule an appointment for further evaluation if necessary.


Finance for Non-financial Managers Offered on November 10-11
Emory Executive Education, the non-degree, executive program for Goizueta Business School, offers programs designed to elevate your leadership capabilities and your business acumen. Finance for Non-financial Managers is offered November 10-11. This executive finance class helps those who have found they need a better understanding of key financial principles as well as how to use them to drive better business decisions. Emory University and Emory Healthcare staff receive a 15% discount off program registration fees. Learn more.    


Lunch and Learns: Master of Religion and Public Life
Candler School of Theology has launched its new Master of Religion and Public Life (MRPL) degree program, which explores the dynamics of faith in the public sphere. Opportunities to learn more about the MRPL will take place on October 28 and November 11 from noon to 1:00 pm in room 517 of the Rita Anne Rollins Building. The program is ideal for individuals in non-religious careers whose interests or work intersects with religion, the MRPL is a 30 credit-hour, residential program with a flexible curriculum and occasional evening classes to accommodate working professionals. Join us for a lunch and learn information session on October 28 or November 11. Registration is required. The application deadline for spring 2016 is December 1. Learn more.


Food=Medicine Conference: The All-Stars of Health
Highlighting the great benefits that nutritional choice can have on our health, the Food = Medicine Conference will educate the public as well as provide continuing education for medical professionals about the growing amount of research that shows that food choice can affect chronic disease and prevention as well as reversal.
