Award of Distinction - Deadline is This Thursday!

Nominations are currently being accepted for Emory University's Award of Distinction Program. Each year, the program recognizes approximately 10-15 university staff employees who have made outstanding contributions to the Emory Community through their initiative, innovation and leadership. Nomination eligibility includes: all regular, full- and part-time staff who have been employed for at least one year. Previous awardees are eligible for nominations. Honorees are recognized at a special dinner and also receive a $1,000 award. The submission deadline is August 30, 2018. Learn more about the nomination process here.

Changes to Relocation Management
Emory Business Services, together with Business Practice Improvement, is launching a new program to assist schools and units with relocation of newly hired faculty and staff.  This new relocation assistance program will provide enhanced customer service for you and your new hires, with a goal of providing a seamless relocation experience for new employees. Read memo.

Is Your Address and Personal Information Up-To-Date in Self-Service?
Human Resources will soon be mailing important information about annual benefits enrollment, so now is a good time to go into Self-Service/PeopleSoft and look over your personal information. Using Self-Service, you can update your mailing address, emergency contacts, phone numbers, marital status, and more. Learn more.

Emory Caregiver Support Program coordinator Mary Ellen Eady will facilitate a new webinar series: Caregiver Conversations.  Join us for our first installment: Caregiver Support at Emory. This webinar will be an opportunity to hear about nationwide caregiver benefits available through Emory University for you and your family.  All caregiver benefits through Emory University will be reviewed. The benefits that will be covered by guest speakers include Emergency Back-Up Care, Customized Research and Care Management. Winship Cancer Institute’s Win the Fight 5K
The Winship Cancer Institute’s Win the Fight 5K will take place on Saturday, October 13th on the Emory University Quadrangle on Dowman Drive. Registration for the Peachtree Road Race qualifier is now open at winship5k.emory.edu.

For the second year, nine-time NBA All-Star and Hall of Fame inductee Dominique Wilkins will serve as the grand marshal. Anyone who is unable to attend in person has an option to join virtually, donate to the cause, and be recognized.

New this year: participants will be able to direct their tax-deductible donations to benefit the Winship 5K Professorship fund.  Contributions can be made to 17 other Winship cancer research funds as well.
