2016 Incentives – Your Key to Healthy Living

incentivesLearn more about yourself and your health by first taking Aetna’s new Compass online health risk assessment (HRA), available online at www.aetna.com. Once completed, you then have the opportunity to participate in the 2016 incentive programs. You can earn up to $500 (depending on individual program eligibility) and, if you have a spouse or same-sex domestic partner covered by Emory’s medical plan, she or he can also earn up to $500. Nominations Now Open for 2016 Award of Distinction
Nominations are currently being accepted for Emory University's Award of Distinction Program. Each year, the program recognizes approximately 10-15 university staff employees who have made outstanding contributions to the Emory Community through their initiative, innovation and leadership. Nomination eligibility includes: all regular, full- and part-time staff who have been employed for at least one year. Previous awardees are eligible for nominations. Emory Healthcare employees, faculty, faculty equivalents, librarians and retirees are not eligible to participate in this program. The deadline is Friday, February 5, 2016, 5:00 pm. Learn more.


Update Regarding 2015 Tax Forms
The IRS recently made a change regarding the requirement of the 1095-C Form. Emory University employees who are eligible for health care coverage will still receive the new tax form, however, the IRS is no longer requiring that it be filed with your 2015 tax returns.  Keep the form for your records or for auditing purposes.

You should sign up now to get both your W-2 Form and your 1095-C Form online as this is the most secure, efficient way to get your tax forms. The deadline to sign up is January 14, 2016. Learn more.

Emory's Annual Camp & Learning Expo is February 4th
The Emory WorkLife Resource Center announces the Annual Camp & Learning Expo will take place on Thursday, February 4, 2016. Get a head start on your summer planning and learn about summer camp and learning programs for children throughout the greater Atlanta area. 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, Woodruff PE Center, 4th Floor Auxiliary Court.

Recovery Support Series
The Faculty Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) is offering a series of free, confidential, interactive workshops that are open to Emory employees who are in active recovery from alcohol and other substances. Participation provides an opportunity to connect with fellow employees in recovery and strengthen relapse prevention skills throughout the year.  The next workshop, Rejuvenate Your Recovery for the New Year, will be held Friday, January 29, at 11:30am at FSAP. Try Blomeyer Health Fitness Center
Emory’s Blomeyer Health Fitness Center has a few great promotions right now to help you start the new year off right!  

The Blomeyer staff would love to come visit your department. If you have a common area or breakroom where their staff can come set up an information table for a couple hours, they would enjoy getting out and about to meet employees on campus. The Glenn School for Young Children Open House
The Glenn School for Young Children announces an Open House and Parent Information Night for prospective and current parents, January 25, 6:30-7:30PM. The Glenn School is located on Emory’s main campus at 1660 N. Decatur Rd. and offers a half-day, early-learning program serving children 6 months through kindergarten. Read more.


Emergency Back-up Care is Here!
Benefits-eligible faculty and staff (along with students in the Laney Graduate School) now have access to Emergency Back-Up Care through a new partnership with Bright Horizons, a nationally known leader in child care. When you need to be at work, but experience an unexpected breakdown in your routine childcare or adult/elder care arrangement, Emergency Back-Up Care can provide quick access to secure, temporary caregiving services. Overview of the Emory Caregiver Support Program - January 13, 2016
The Emory WorkLife Resource Center will be providing an overview to the Emory Caregiver Support Program. This one hour session will be facilitated by Mary Ellen Nessmith, Work-Life Specialist, specializing in adult care. Ms. Nessmith will point out resources available through the program to help support employees with adult caregiving responsibilities.
