Retirement Plan Fee Disclosure Notices to be Sent Via Email

If you are eligible to participate in Emory’s retirement plan, later this month you will receive an important email about the investment options available through the plan. The email subject line will be “Important Plan Information” and it will be sent from “Your Benefits Center.” Please note that this email is not spam, but important information about your retirement benefit.

In the email, Fidelity Investments will provide standardized information about the different investment options offered by all three of Emory’s retirement vendors: Fidelity, TIAA-CREF and Vanguard. The detailed information will include:

  • An overview of factors to consider when making investment decisions
  • The different investment options available to you
  • Performance history
  • Fees and expenses
  • Glossary of terms

The material you will receive is required by the federal government and is for informational purposes. It does not represent any changes from the investment decisions that you have already made. Receiving this information provides you with an opportunity to take a look at your current retirement investment selections and compare the fees and expense ratios of all the investment options that are available to you.  Keep in mind, fees do differ with each vendor and with each fund.

Although no action will be required, based on your review of the information, you may decide to make changes to your 403(b) or 403(b) Roth.  You may also wish to discuss it with your vendor or financial advisor. Remember that Fidelity, TIAA-CREF and Vanguard offer on-site counseling and guidance throughout the year. Sessions are provided at no cost and are conducted by salaried, non-commission paid individuals. Visit the Retirement Plan Counseling webpage for more information.

If you have any questions, contact the Benefits Department at benefits@emory.edu.
